Orlando -- See the August 21 eclipse with other sky geeks at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, which is having a pop-up viewing event on its front lawn.
Together with the Orlando Science Center, the performing arts venue will set up a pop-up station on its Seneff Arts Plaza, a grassy courtyard in front of the complex. Solar viewing glasses will be available, and experts will offer educational commentary.
As the eclipse travels across the country for the first time in 99 years, Orlandoans will see the unusual sky event in 85 percent of its totality.
This is free, so join the fun.
Fellow sponsors are the Florida Hospital for Children, Full Sail Labs, and the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce.
