Titusville – Playalinda Brewing Co. on Florida’s Space Coast is one of five winners of the James Beard Foundation’s Fifth Annual Blended Burger Project. The brewpub beat out nearly 500 restaurants around the country. Its winning contribution, which had to have both meat and mushrooms to make it “more delicious, nutritious and sustainable,” according to Beard: The Viva Ybor! Burger made with soppressata-seasoned beef, pork and crimini mushrooms. It’s on fresh Cuban bread along with Swiss cheese, cured sweet ham, mojo pork pernil, English mustard and house-made mustard pickles.
