Orlando—The folks behind the locally based 4 Rivers Smokehouse chain and 4Roots Farm—which will help more Orlandoans eat and learn about agriculture—are now running the restaurant within the Orlando Science Center (national chain sub shop, begone!). And within this new “plant-forward” 4Roots Cafe using Florida-raised ingredients whenever possible is an interactive, educational exhibit. It’s called Food Heroes. Among the features are interactive stations including a robotic arm, time-lapse videos to see composted food decomposing, cooking tutorials, and info on how to make a difference if you live in the area.
"This exhibit promotes the interconnectedness of the food system, and spotlights those people fighting to make it more equitable, sustainable, and healthier for everyone," says JoAnn Newman, President and CEO of Orlando Science Center.
The Food Heroes displays is sponsored by Orlando Health.
