As the holiday season gets underway, downtown Orlando's The Courtesy Bar has taken on a new identity. Under the sub-name Miracle on Orange, the craft cocktail lounge is using recipes, barware and other items from a global Miracle promotion. It's kind of a pop-up in the bar's regular space.
As a result, instead of signature creative beverages imagined by its mixologists, The Courtesy Bar is serving up playfully named concoctions that are part of the Miracle program. Drinks like the Snowball Old Fashioned, made with an actual snowball instead of an ice cube, are on the beverage menu. Other options include the chocolately Run Run Rudolph and the Yippie Ki Yay Mother F****r! The latter includes "purple yam-coconut orgeat," so you know the drinks are still on the inventive side.
Wholesome, almost corny, glasses and mugs hold the drinks. They're happy and fun.
According to co-owner Diana Pereira Zimmerman, this is Miracle's third year, and more than 50 carefully chosen bars around the world will be joining in. The program runs through December 24.
