Often alluring, otherwise offputting, the street foods of Chengdu, China, are a colorful assortment of snacks.
Choose your protein or veggie, and the purveyor will grill your snack to order.
I found myself in this bustling, non-touristy city as part of an Adventures by Disney tour. The company surely chose Chengdu so we could see the adorable pandas at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. You'll see a peek at the end of this post.
Between our animal adventure, a dinner of authentic Chinese hot pot, which I'll feature in a later blog post, and indulgent buffet breakfasts at The Ritz-Carlton, Chengdu, my husband and I explored the streets nearby and happened upon these exotic eats.

Oysters, apparently, with minced something-or-other--do I eye garlic?--on top
Clams. They appear to have thin rice noodles on top.
Eggs? Pancakes? Either way, they look scrumptious.

Let's say we can safely say this is chicken. Look at that crispy skin.
No one in my group had any trouble with the food or water, yet I chose not to sample these tempting beverages, or any others, that weren't from Disney-approved purveyors.
