Orlando—If you’re like me, restaurant and bakery foods are what I miss most about sheltering in place—well, and my kids. For the food part of it, local pastry chef Yael Miller of Ooga Ooga Cake Art offers a delicious solution. Two or three days a week, she now offers a pop-style baked good of the day.
Recent options were soft pretzels with a variety of seeds on top, oatmeal-walnut cookies and a carrot cake-style cupcake. She’s open to ideas, so tell her what you crave.
Every Friday, you can buy a breaded egg bread known as challah. (I order a round one with raisins every autumn.)
Ooga Ooga is mostly a custom cake specialist, and the business still offers whatever you want in quantity—clever cookies, whimsical cakes and more. Pick-up is in Dr. Phillips. Details on the Facebook page.
