Orlando – Toast the Kentucky Derby with a mint julep at Ocean Prime. On Saturday, May 4, the Orlando unit of the upscale seafood restaurant will serve this iconic Kentucky Derby cocktail in the lounge and dining room. Ocean Prime makes its version with Old Forester. The recipe is below.

Glassware: Julep cup or highball

Garnish: Mint sprig, powdered sugar

Ingredients:

2 oz. Old Forester

½ oz. simple syrup

¼ oz. Disaronno

4-5 dashes or ½ dropper of Angosturabitters

8 mint leaves

Directions:

Combine all ingredients in mixing tin.

Add ice and shake vigorously to integrate mint and combine flavors.

Strain over crushed ice into glass.
