Tropical fruit with a zesty, spicy mix on top--now that's an airport snack I can respect.
At Charlotte-Douglas International Airport, the table-service restaurant Tequileria seemed like a nice respite before my flight. A friend and I lunched on quesadillas and Plato de Frutas, which is a red plate with wedges of pineapple, cantaloupe, mango, and watermelon, plus strawberries. On the side was a cup of "chili-lime seasoning."
I sprinkled some on and it made the fruit pleasingly spicy. The lime wedge promised was missing; that would have enhanced the fruit yet more.
I'd order the refreshing Mexican fruit plate again in a second.
The quesadilla though--that was tasteless. Even the guacamole had no flavor.
I'm always on the lookout for healthful, tasty airport meals. At least here we have half a commendable meal.
Eat enthusiastically,
Rona
