Win two tickets to Fresh from the Field, an over-the-top alfresco dinner held on a farm.
See that photo? That's what the setting will be like, only this, the second-ever Fresh from the Field, will be on Tucker Ranch. Tucker Ranch doesn't technically exist yet. It's a historic 209-acre area in Winter Garden that will soon open to the public with a 20-acre working farm. Dinner attendees will be among the very first to see the scenic property in its new carnation.
I attended the last Fresh from the Field and it was a magical evening. Chefs--this time the passionate culinary couterie from the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort--will cook up a multi-course wine-pairing dinner. First you'll nibble on hors d'oeuvres while sipping items like locally made Palm Ridge Reserve whiskey and Crooked Can Brewing Company beer. Crooked Can will open in Winter Garden this spring.
Then, as the sun sets, you'll dine under the stars on family-style platters. Short rib "en cartoccio," chilled Maine lobster and king crab with spring truffle and pressed fruit, and smoked meats including homemade bacon are among the fixings. Dessert? A trio including Earl Gray tea ganache fried truffle with milk chocolate pudding cream and dark chocolate sauce.
Tickets to Fresh from the Field are $165. $105 of that is tax-deductible because Fresh from the Field benefits the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Central Florida. I paid the price for two tickets last time and, honestly, the experience was so satisfying that I feel I got my money's worth. Buy tickets now--the event is THIS SATURDAY, March 7! But, if you subscribe to this blog, "like" this Facebook page, tweet a link to this blog tagging @RonaRecommends (if you don't use @RonaRecommends I won't know you tweeted), or comment below, you'll automatically be entered to win two tickets for free. We'll announce the winner Thursday, March 5, at 4 p.m., so check back.
I get nothing (but maybe some new subscribers) for posting this. I'm doing it because the event is THAT GOOD and want to spread the word. Plus it's for a great cause. Win/win/win (with lots of wine/wine/wine).
Enter, spread the word, and eat enthusiastically,
